Alice Pettigrew
Chief Executive Officer
Alice has over 20 years’ experience in finance, business development and energy operations. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a postgraduate qualification from Oxford University’s Saïd Business School. She has a broad skill set in management, investment analysis, commercial project delivery and stakeholder relationships.
As CEO, Alice leads the organisation with a focus on the efficient and safe operation of existing renewable power stations, alongside the development and execution of the company’s growth strategy and project pipeline. Her experience in investment analysis and due diligence guides the strategic project team’s investment identification and prioritisation.
Ben Gibson
Strategic Projects Manager
Ben holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons). Since joining Eastland in 2004, originally in a commercial management role, he has undertaken various projects across the generation, port and electricity sectors. He has extensive experience in the energy sector and markets, including over 10 years in geothermal generation development and operations. Ben has established strong relationships with project partners and stakeholders, including iwi, landowners, industry and the community. He leads business development within Eastland Generation, focussing on renewable energy generation. This includes procurement and contract negotiation, and business case development.
Belinda Lake
Chief Financial Officer
Belinda is an accomplished commercial leader, with a diverse background in operational environments, including mining and construction. She has wide-ranging expertise in financial and management accounting, contract management, business analysis and improvement, and commercial management. Her career has taken her to locations across the world, from remote mine sites in Western Australia and Africa to geothermal power plants in New Zealand. Belinda is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. She actively contributes to the community as a dedicated business mentor through Business Mentors New Zealand.
Jarred Moroney
General Manager Geothermal
Jarred has spent over two decades specialising in health and safety management and business systems. His previous senior roles include General Manager People and Performance for Eastland Group (now Tairāwhiti Investments Ltd) and General Manager of regional lines company Eastland Network (now Firstlight Network), where he managed the successful sale and transition to new ownership. He then took time to work at one of the most remote farming operations on the East Coast of the North Island, Waikura Station, as General Manager Operations. Jarred’s ability to manage people to get the best from them, for the business and themselves, is one of his key attributes.

Matanuku Mahuika
Board Chair
Matanuku is a barrister at Bankside Chambers, which he joined in March 2024 after spending over 20 years as a founding partner of the law firm Kahui Legal. He has held a wide variety of directorships and governance roles. He currently chairs Eastland Generation and serves on the boards of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and Callaghan Innovation. His previous roles include Chair of the Ministerial Panel on the reform of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, Chair of the Ngāti Porou Holding Company, Chair of Eastland Group (now Tairāwhiti Investments Ltd), Chair of Sealord Group, and Deputy Chair of Aotearoa Fisheries Limited (now Moana New Zealand).
Jon Nichols
Director
Jon has over 30 years of experience in finance, commercial management and major project development, with strengths in strategy and planning, driving good processes, and change management. As a seasoned Director and Consultant, Jon has led numerous strategic and operational initiatives across private, public and not-for-profit entities. He currently holds Directorships with Unison Networks, ETEL Transformers, RPS Switchgear and Eastland Generation, and is Chair of Hawke’s Bay Airport. Additionally, Jon is the independent Chair of the Shareholder Council establishing a water entity in Hawke’s Bay. Previously, Jon served on several boards including Eastland Group (now Tairāwhiti Investments Ltd), Electra, Palmerston North Airport, Napier Port, Ngāwhā Generation and Top Energy and Centralines, where he was Chair. Jon completed a nine year term as the independent Chair of audit and risk at Maungaharuru Tangitū Trust in October 2025.
Yukio Mashimo
Director
Yukio Mashimo has been with Obayashi for over 30 years. Yukio has held various management positions within the Obayashi Group, including directorships of subsidiaries in the USA and Canada. His experience includes leading mergers and acquisitions and major infrastructure public-private partnership projects. Currently, he is responsible for renewable energy project development and asset management in New Zealand. He is President of Obayashi Corporation Limited in New Zealand, a Director of Eastland Generation, General Manager of Obayashi’s Green Energy Division - New Zealand, and Director and President of Obayashi Clean Energy New Zealand Ltd. He holds an MBA from Georgetown University (US) and is a licensed US CPA.
Tatsuya Tanaka
Director
Tatsuya Tanaka has more than three decades of experience with Obayashi. His infrastructure expertise includes mountain tunnel, drilling, nuclear and geothermal projects, and he is responsible for all of Obayashi’s geothermal power plant developments in Japan. He is General Manager of Obayashi’s Green Energy Division – Geothermal, a Director of Obayashi Clean Energy New Zealand Ltd, and a Director of Geosys (Geophysical Technology Service and Consulting) Inc. He has a Masters of Science and Engineering from Saitama University in Japan, and a P.E.Jp (Geology).
